A few smaller projects

In the last couple of weeks I worked on a few smaller projects and I thought I would share them with you in this post.

A grandmother who lives in Aachen and was visiting her son and his family in Hungary asked me if I could make a bed cover for his grand son. It was supposed to cover one side of the bed, hanged on the railing to protect the little one from blast while he is asleep. It was also requested that I use Hungarian hand dyed blue print fabric but other then that no more was specified in terms of pattern or colors or really anything at all. This is what I came up with:

I loved this project because I always enjoy working with blue prints and it has been a while since I last made a quilt.

My other project was to make new (and water proof) bibs for my little one because he loves to eat soup but his older (and handed down) bibs are kind of worn out and they don’t protect his cloths anymore as well as they should. I also made the bibs larger, so they will cover his lap, too and I added a plastic foil to the back side to really protect his T-Shirts from anything he will spill. We already use these and so far so good!

The third project I want to show you is a case for tampons and panty liners. I searched for a pattern or for a tutorial but haven’t found any that I could use. What I did find was a few good ideas that I combined in one. My favorite part is the loop: I can hang this case on door knobs and don’t have to worry about where will I put it down while I use it. What do you think?

This is it for today. I hope you enjoyed it! Next week I’ll be back with my fantastic new green skirt! Until then enjoy this beautiful summer weather and tell me about your latest mini-project!
