About

Hello and welcome to Rita’s Design!

This blog is a collection of my sewing and crafting projects, home decorating ideas, DIYs and other random things that pop into my head. If you love this sort of thing, you’ll feel right at home here!

I have actually never taken sewing lessons but I started my journey as a sewist when I was about five years old: my mother taught me hand sewing, later on cross stitching and I’ve been sewing ever since. I got great tips and advice here and there, bought a couple of books but most things I learned from fellow blogwriters and I am very thankful for everyone on this wonderful journey!

This gave me the idea to share what I discovered along the way and to possibly inspire others, so I started this blog.

I am from Hungary where I studied cultural anthropology and folklore and where I also got married. After that we spent a couple of wonderful years with my husband in Detroit, MI, then we moved to Aachen, Germany in 2010. We live there ever since and try to tackle the struggles of everyday life and nurture our two sons (4 and 1 years old).

Whenever I have a moment of silence, I try to sew or create something. Being creative is part of who I am and I am happy to share my adventures with you. If you want to join me on this journey of endless learning and creating, you can sign up to follow Rita’s Design via eMail or say hello on my Facebook page (under the name FabRita)!

Thank you for stopping by and get inspired!
